A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor off Balholm in Sognefjord, Norway. Her port anchor is deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged aft. Seaboat 4 and lifeboats 8 and 18 have been launched. Lifeboat 10 has been swung out and lowered to the promenade deck level and lifeboats 8A and 10A have been swung out and lowered to boat deck level. The ship is flying the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm and the Norwegian flag from the top of her foremast. The photographer is on shore looking over trees. The horizon is not quite level.
