A starboard near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor in Isfjord, off Aandalsnes, Norway.
A starboard near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor in Isfjord off Aandalsnes, Norway. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged aft with one of her boats alongside it. Lifeboat 17 has been launched, one of her boats is alongside the boat boom forward and another is heading for the shore. She is flying the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm, the Norwegian flag from the top of the foremast and flag N from the bridge signal halyard. She is emitting a column of smoke from her after funnel. The negative is captioned "At Naes" which is how some cruise operators described Aandalsnes.
