A motor lifeboat towing a seaboat past the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) while the ship is at anchor offshore in an unknown location. The photographer is looking forward from the head of the accommodation ladder on the starboard side. The empty davits of lifeboat 17 are in the foreground and the upper part of a midships shell door is open. The seaboat is fully manned by six seamen wearing life jackets and she has two fenders hanging over the port gunwhale. A vertical format negative.
