Rainbow from the 'Ravenspoint'
A sketch from the 'Ravenspoint', concentrating on the effects of a rainbow over the sea, with rain falling on the left. The painting has been carefully constructed with a trough in the wave in the foreground leading the viewer towards the rainbow in the sky. The artist has also concentrated on the effects of light in the sky and on the far right the confused nature of the clouds is clearly visible. Through the rain on the left it is just possible to discern land. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Ravenspoint', from Liverpool to the Mediterranean between January and February 1935.
