The port side promenade deck lifeboats on board the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) during an abandon ship lifeboat drill. The photographer is looking aft from the aft end of the boat deck showing the lifeboats 18 and 20 swung out fully manned by members of the ship's crew and have been lowered to promenade deck level. No passengers are involved in this drill and only crew members can be seen in the boats but a number of passengers are on the promenade deck and standing by the ship's rail watching the crew's activities. Negative number P84735 was taken on the same occasion.
