A slightly distant stern view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) alongside the Molo Angioino in Naples harbour, Italy. The photographer is looking east-by-south from an elevated position in the Castel Nuovo. An Orient Line brow is rigged from the quayside to the ship and motor vehicles are parked under a shelter by the side of a warehouse. Beyond the warehouse construction has started on the Beverello passenger terminal complex. The San Vincenzo pier with Italian Navy warships alongside it is on the right. The volcano Mount Vesuvius is in the background but is almost completely hidden by mist and cloud.
