A distant starboard near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor off Capri, Italy. She has her port anchor deployed and two accommodation ladders are rigged aft, one to the main deck and one to a shell door. A boat is alongside the shell door ladder and another boat is close under the stern of the ship with one of her crew holding onto a rope ladder hanging down from the stern rail. A gaff is fitted to the ship's mainmast.
