A slightly distant port near broadside view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor in Sognefjord off Balholm, Norway. She has her port anchor deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged to the main deck aft with one of the ship's boats alongside it. Lifeboats 16 and 18 have been launched and seaboat 4 has been swung out and lowered to boat deck level. The Blue Peter is flying from the starboard yardarm and the Norwegian flag is at the foremast head. A wooden building, a stone quay and stacks of sawn and cut timber are in the foreground. Patches of snow are on the mountains in the background.
