The starboard boat deck on board the Orient Line cruise ship Oronsay (1925) at an unknown location
The crew at lifeboat stations on the starboard side of the boat deck on board the Orient Line cruise ship Oronsay (1925) while under way at sea in an unknown location. The photographer is looking aft and slightly to port from the starboard bridge wing showing the double banked lifeboats still housed under their davits but their tarpaulin covers have been removed. Lifeboat 17 has been swung out and lowered to promenade deck level and both of her masts have been raised. The boat's crews, wearing lifejackets, are lined up on the boat deck alongside their respective boats. Awning bars have been rigged over the boat deck. A vertical format negative.
