Lifeboats from the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) at the finish of a race in Sognefjord, off Balholm, Norway. Three manual lifeboats and an escorting motor lifeboat are seen from on board the ship. Each of the manual lifeboats is manned by sixteen passengers under the supervision of two crew members. The winning boat has its oars tossed and the second boat has crossed the line and is in the process of tossing oars. The third boat is still struggling to cross the line. All of the boats are seen from off their starboard sides.
