Seascape from the 'Birkdale'

A sketch exploring the relationship between the sea and the sky. Through the use of colour and shape Everett has captured the sense of movement of the waves, using a series of short marks of varying colour. The thickly painted area in the sky implies the sun and this intensity of light is counterbalanced by the darker clouds. Reflections from the sky play across the surface of the water in sky in a variety of colour.
