A port bow view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) alongside a quay in Southampton docks, Hampshire. The photographer is on the quayside abreast the bow looking aft showing a quayside crane with a cargo net loaded with baggage suspended over the forward hold. The crane was built by Stothert & Pitt Ltd at Bath in 1931. The ship is possibly alongside Berth 101 in the Western Docks. A vertical format negative.
