A port bow view of the Orient Line cruise ship Otranto (1925) at anchor off Funchal, Madeira. She has her starboard anchor deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged to her main deck aft. Number 16 lifeboat has been launched and number 4 seaboat has been swung out and lowered to boat deck level. A Blue Peter is flying from the starboard yardarm on the foremast. Local bumboats are gathered off the starboard side and at the stern of the ship. The horizon is not level. A vertical format negative.
