A slightly distant port side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Cunard Line cruise ship Samaria (1921) moored in Bighi Bay, Grand Harbour, Malta. She has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door amidships and boats are alongside it. The photographer is in the Upper Barrakka in Valletta looking east-by-south across the harbour showing a general cargo ship under way heading for the harbour entrance and a Royal Navy dockyard paddle tug heading across the harbour. A chain bucket dredger is working just offshore of the Royal Navy Hospital at Bighi and Ricasoli is in the left background. The negative is very slightly out of focus.
