The photographer is on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929). He is looking forward and to starboard from the mainmast showing passengers on the aft promenade deck playing deck tennis and quoits. Two women are sitting on the hatch to the after hold. Two of the crew are standing on the end of the boat deck by the stern of motor lifeboat number 15 which is in its davits. The ships are steaming on parallel courses. A vertical format negative.
