Motor lifeboat number 5 in the water under its falls close alongside the starboard side of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Stratheden (1937) which is at anchor in an unknown location. An officer is steering the boat to keep it in position while the falls are being connected by lascar crewmen. The two men forward are connecting the hook to the boat. One of lascars aft is holding a boathook and another is hanging onto the aft falls and looking down from about twelve feet above the water. What he is doing is open to speculation.
