She is flying the Blue Peter from the port yardarm of her foremast and the foremast head is out of the picture. Two track mounted mobile embarkation brows are connected to the ship amidships and aft. Six members of the crew are on bosun's chairs painting the ship's side under the bridge. Horse-drawn carriages and a number of people are on the quayside in the foreground.
