A close starboard quarter view of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathmore (1935) alongside a wharf in an unknown port, probably in the Mediterranean.
A close starboard quarter view of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathmore (1935) alongside a wharf in an unknown port, probably in the Mediterranean. She is flying the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm of her foremast. A brow is rigged to the shell door below her bridge and a area of the quayside adjacent to the brow and including a travelling crane is fenced off. Some of her crew are retouching the paintwork on her hull. Her stern and the top of her mainmast are out of the picture. The photographer is in a position ashore that is at a level with the promenade deck and on the quay in the foreground are stacks of goods covered with tarpaulins.
