A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathmore (1935) at anchor in an unknown location. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has accommodation ladders rigged to two shell doors amidships. Lifeboat number 16 has been launched and she is flying the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm on her foremast. A few small boats are alongside the ship. The photographer is looking across a promenade on which there are a number of folding metal tables and chairs.
