Study of the aft gun turrets of HMS 'Iron Duke' and two sketches of the scout cruiser HMS 'Blonde'
Two studies on one sheet, the upper one in mainly watercolour inscribed by the artist 'Iron Duke' and the lower, in pencil, 'Blonde'. The former shows the starboard quarter of the battleship 'Iron Duke' (1912), specifically X and Y turrets. This is after the 1915-16 removal of the main deck 6-inch gun casemates but before the 1918 fitting of an aircraft platform on X turret. The two pencil sketch of the scout cruiser 'Blonde' (1910) below are from the same 1916 to early 1918 period.
