Bow-view studies of HMS Canada' and 'Royal Sovereign'
Two bow-view pencil studies identified by artist's inscriptions below as 'Canada' and 'Royal Sov'. They show the battleships 'Canada' (1913) and 'Royal Sovereign' (1915) in their 1917 rig. Of note for dating is the searchlight above the foretop of 'Royal Sovereign'. She was the only ship of her class to have this feature and only had it for a short time in 1917.
