Seascape
A sketch of waves in a moderate sea. The viewpoint is low and the eye is on the same level as the breaking waves. The artist has concentrated on the curved shapes produced by the waves and on the crests of white foam. Their spray is clearly shown as well as the honeycomb pattern created on the surface of the water. The sea occupies seven-eighths of the painting.
