A starboard near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathmore (1935) at anchor in an unknown location. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has accommodation ladders rigged amidships and aft with a steam tug/tender alongside the aft ladder. Lifeboat 15 has been launched and she is flying the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm of her foremast. The photographer is standing on the bow of one of the ship's boats as it heads for shore laden with passengers.
