A distant starboard bow view of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathnaver (1931) anchored and moored in San Marco Basin, Venice, Italy. She has her starboard anchor deployed, has the Blue Peter flying from the starboard yardarm on her foremast and is emitting a plume of smoke from her second funnel. Part of the ship is obscured by the mainsail of a lighter which is passing. Tugs and passenger vessels are alongside the Riva Schiavoni on the right and St. Mark's Campanile is beyond the bow of the Strathnaver.
