A starboard quarter view of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathnaver (1931) at anchor off Palermo, Sicily. The photographer is in a boat off the quarter looking forward showing a number of lascar seamen working from stagings over the side cleaning the hull of the ship. Two accommodation ladders are rigged to shell doors amidships and boats are alongside the forward one. Lifeboat number 17 has been launched. The top of the mainmast is out of the picture. Negative numbers P85121 to P85123 and P85126 to P85128 were taken on the same occasion.
