A slightly distant port bow view of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathnaver (1931) at moorings in Grand Harbour, Malta. She has accommodation ladders rigged amidships and aft with a passenger tender alongside the aft ladder and a lighter just ahead of it. She is flying the Blue Peter from the port yardarm of her foremast and lifeboat number 18 has been launched. The photographer is looking south-by-west from the Upper Barrakka at Valletta showing a Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth class battleship afloat in the sunken Admiralty Floating Dock No. 8 (1917) on the right with the Corradino Heights in the background. A vertical format negative. Negative number P85135 was taken on the same occasion.
