The photographer is looking south-east-by-east from the Upper Barrakka in Valletta showing Bighi to the left of Kalkara Creek and a Royal Navy 'D' class light cruiser of the 3rd Cruiser Squadron of the Mediterranean Fleet is moored in the creek.
