She has her starboard anchor deployed but the port anchor is still housed in its hawse with the anchor chain being fed through a fairlead on deck She is flying the Italian ensign from the port yardarm and the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm on her foremast. The photographer is looking west-north-west from a boat showing the Riva Schiavoni, the Doge's Palace, and St. Mark's Campanile on the right.
