A slightly distant starboard side view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Strathnaver (1931) anchored off Monte Carlo, Monaco. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door aft with a boat alongside it. Lifeboat number 17 has been launched. The photographer is in a slightly elevated position ashore looking east-south-east across a promenade which has an ornate stone balustrade at the edge and a flight of stone steps with a similar balustrade on either side of it.
