A very distant starboard quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the Anchor Line cruise ship Tuscania (1922) at anchor off Funchal, Madeira. Her starboard anchor is deployed, she has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door amidships and she is dressed overall. A few local bumboats selling embroidery, lacework and other items are alongside. The photographer is on the beach and moored just offshore are a number of boats including ones named Maria Tereza, Lili, Gaivota and Agueda. An unidentified, 2-masted steam yacht with a clipper bow is on the right.
