The ship is berthed starboard side to the quay by the Italia Line terminal. Lifeboat number 16 has been launched and she has a large awning over the aft end of the promenade deck. The photographer is looking west-south-west from a cable car on the Transbordador Aeri del Port and one of the support towers is on the right. The Spanish Navy sail training ship Juan Sebastian De Elcano (1927) and the destroyer Lepanto (1929) with cargo ships, tugs and yachts are in port and the castle on Montjuic Hill is in the background.
