A distant port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden. She has both anchors deployed and is moored to a buoy at the stern. She is flying the Blue Peter from the port yardarm on her foremast and the Swedish flag from the masthead. An accommodation ladder is rigged to a shell door amidships but it is in the raised position. A rubbish lighter is alongside an open shell door. The photographer is looking east-by-north from an elevated position in the Katarina district showing a wooden hulled auxiliary ketch and other shipping alongside the Stadsgardleden in the foreground and the Norwegian Navy minelayer and cadet training ship Olav Tryggvason (1932) is at anchor in the left background with a local passenger vessel passing her.
