A slightly distant starboard quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) at Quarry Wharf in Grand Harbour, Malta. She is moored stern-on to the wharf and has both anchors deployed. An accommodation ladder is rigged to the shell doors amidships and boats are alongside it. She is flying the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm on her foremast. A water boat is alongside her stern and a lighter is alongside just aft of amidships. The photographer is looking east-by-north from the Upper Barrakka showing the Church of Our Lady of Liesse in the foreground with Ricasoli in the background and the Royal Naval Hospital at Bighi on the right.
