A distant starboard bow view of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) at anchor in Holandsfjorden, Norway, during a visit to the Svartisen Glacier. Her port anchor is deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door amidships with a boat alongside it. Motor lifeboat 15 has been launched. The photographer is on one of the ship's motor tender alongside the wooden landing pier and one of the ship's lascar seamen is standing in the boat keeping the boat alongside the pier with a boathook. There are small patches of snow on the mountains in the background. The negative is captioned 'Svartisen'. A vertical format negative.
