A starboard side view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) at anchor in an unknown location. Her port anchor is deployed and she has accommodation ladders rigged to a shell door amidships and to 'C' deck aft. A steam passenger tender is alongside the midships ladder and one of the ship's own boats is alongside the aft ladder. Two other local service craft are alongside amidships. Lifeboat number 15 has been launched and the ship is flying the Blue Peter from the starboard yardarm on her foremast.
