A distant starboard bow view, taken from wide off the bow, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) at anchor off Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door amidships. A number of boats are alongside the ship. Lifeboat numbers 9, 11 and 15 have been launched. The ship is flying the Blue Peter from the port yardarm on her foremast and the Yugoslav flag from the masthead. The photographer is looking south-east from the harbour shore showing a number of small craft anchored or moored in the harbour protected by the Kase breakwater. Beyond the breakwater is a large ketch rigged yacht at anchor.
