A distant starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) anchored off Monte Carlo, Monaco. She has an accommodation ladder rigged to a shell door amidships with a boat alongside it. She is flying the Blue Peter from the port yardarm on her foremast. The photographer is in a slightly elevated position ashore looking east-south-east across a promenade which has an ornate stone balustrade at the edge and a flight of stone steps with a similar balustrade on either side of it.
