Slightly distant port broadside views of the Orient Line cruise ships Otranto (1925) and Orford (1928) at anchor in Sognefjord off Balholm, Norway.
Slightly distant port broadside views of the Orient Line cruise ships Otranto (1925) and Orford (1928) at anchor in Sognefjord off Balholm, Norway. The photographer is looking across the fjord from between trees on a hill and there are patches of snow and streams on the mountains in the background. Both ships have their port anchor deployed and an accommodation ladder rigged to the deck aft with a boat alongside the ladder. The nearer ship, the Otranto, has her number 4 sea boat and her number 16 lifeboat launched. The Orford has two of her lifeboats swung out and lowered to boat deck level.
