Passenger liners and tugs in the Ocean Dock at Southampton, Hampshire. The photographer is on board the Orient Line cruise ship Orford (1928) alongside Berth 44 on the east side of the dock. He is looking forward and to port from the port side showing the falls of a lifeboat in the foreground. On the right is the Alexander Towing Co tug Wellington (1926) with a line connected to the bow of the Cunard Line passenger liner Aquitania (1914) in Berth 47 and the Southampton, Isle of Wight & South of England Steam Packet Co Ltd tug Canute (1923) has her bow pointing to the same ship. The Cunard Line 'A' class passenger/cargo liner Alaunia (1925) is in Berth 46. A vertical format negative.
