On the forecastle of the Anchor Line cruise ship Caledonia (1925) looking aft while under way approaching Hilo, Hawaii. The photographer is standing on the starboard side of the forecastle just forward of the anchor windlass looking aft and showing uniformed crew members by the breakwater and many passengers by the guardrails of the forward promenade deck. The tops of the samson posts, foremast and forefunnel are out of the picture. The negative is captioned "Nearing Hilo".
