The photographer is on board the anchored Orontes looking down on the approaching boat which has just cast off from the motor lifeboat number 17 and the negative is captioned "Boat race winners". A vertical format negative. Negatives numbers P84614 to P84618 inclusive and P85487 and P85488 were taken on the same occasion.
