A slightly distant view of three manual lifeboats from the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) crossing the finishing line during a boat race in Norwegian waters. Four boats took part and each manual lifeboat is crewed by eight male and eight female passengers under the supervision of two of the ship's seamen. The photographer is looking down from the deck of the Orontes (1929) showing a large number of local spectator's boats at the finish. Some of these boats are flying the Norwegian flag.
