A starboard bow view of the spritsail barge Dawn (1897) under full sail in the Thames Estuary during a Southend Barge Match. Her bowsprit is lowered, her staysail is white and all other sails are red. Her bob at the masthead has not been recognized. Three other barges are following her and they are, from left to right, Portlight (1925), May (1891) and Mirosa (1892). The Mirosa has a Whitbread logo on her topsail.
