A slightly distant starboard quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of the bawley Thistle (1887) under sail in the Thames Estuary during the sailing of the Swale Match. She is running downwind goose winging with her white foresail boomed out to port and her red mainsail out to starboard. She has a red staysail and her topmast is hoisted. Her port number RR2 is painted on her hull. Negatives numbers N86951CT and N86952CT were taken on the same occasion.
