A distant view of seven spritsail barges and other sailing craft assembled in the River Medway, Kent, presumably at the start of a Medway Barge Match. The vessels are facing in many different directions and all are under sail. In thecentre, seen from off her starboard beam and with a Hoseasons logo on her topsail, is the Xylonite (1926) and on the right, also seen from off her starboard beam, is a barge with white sails and a drawing of a crowned head in the topsail. Other topsail logos include Sunblest Bread and Cross Keys.
