A stern view of the abandoned house barge Lord Churchill (1888) afloat close to the shore in Whitewall Creek, Frindsbury, Kent. A wood and glazing construction has been built on the after part of the deck but it is in a dilapidated condition. The photographer is looking from almost dead astern and the name and port of registry are visible on the transom. She has an iron rudder post. She is berthed alongside the hulk of the housebarge Bedford (1905) which has a covering a grass over her deck.
