A distant view of eleven sloop rigged cruiser/racer yachts racing in Gillingham Reach on the River Medway, Kent, heading downriver. All the boats are using multi-coloured spinnakers. The red-hulled boat with the red, white and blue spinnaker at the front of the race is The Red Dragon (fl. 1979) and her sail number is K3733. The photographer is on a boat in Gillingham Reach looking north-west with Hoo Ness Island in the background. Negatives numbers PCT14344 to PCT 14349 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
