The red-hulled boat with the red, white and blue spinnaker leading the race is The Red Dragon (fl. 1979) and her sail number is K3733. The photographer is on a boat in Gillingham Reach looking west-north-west with Short Reach on the left and Hoo Ness Island in the background. Negatives numbers PCT14344 to PCT 14349 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
