A port near broadside view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the stemhead bowsprit spritsail barge Beric (1896) under sail in the Thames Estuary off Southend, Essex. She has a white staysail and jib and the remainder of her sails are red. She has a Skol Lager logo on her topsail. Astern of her is the stemhead bowsprit spritsail barge Ethel Maud (1889) that also has a white staysail and jib but she does not have a logo on her topsail. Southend Pier is in the background.
