A starboard near broadside view, taken from ahead of the beam, of an unidentified stemhead bowsprit spritsail barge under sail in the Thames Estuary. She has a white staysail and jib and the remainder of her sails are red. The lower part of her hull is blue and the upper part is black with a white and gold band at the bulwarks. Two men on the headropes are working on the staysail. A clinker built, white painted yacht with a full set of red sails is under sail on the right of the picture. She has a sail mark that has not been recognised.
